Little Things in Between - short documentary

In the summer of 2017, a long rumored soccer stadium had rapidly cemented an already aggressive redevelopment of the surrounding areas in Nashville, TN. In what felt like an important window to capture a portrait of my neighborhood in which this big change was looming, we took a few steps off our front porch and made this short film about the people that had lived there for the past 40+ years. Within the year, the neighborhood was under constant construction and all but one of the houses filmed in were demolished to make space for new (denser) construction.

There are certainly new rings on that neighborhood’s tree. Little Things in Between is a look at a few of those inner ones, which made it so strong.
